Description
Going to the beach before sunrise and waiting for the first hints of color to rise over the ocean is quite an experience. This long exposure image was taken on Sullivan's Island, near Charleston, South Carolina. The tiny waning crescent moon and one bright star are still visible as the horizon changes from black to blue, and then orange. Just above the faint reflections on the soft ocean waves are silhouette of clouds hovering over the ocean, resembling a far off city. Taking in all the beauty feeds the wonder of this glorious daybreak as it starts to unfold.
