Description
Charleston Fire Department Central Station houses Engine 102 and Engine 103. Built in 1887 as a double "double house", it was considered the most important station in the City due to its central location and housed 4 steam engine companies. It became Headquarters for the Department in 1974 until November of 2013. Central Station is located on the corner of Meeting Street and Wentworth Street, Charleston, South Carolina, USA.
This image is the left half of the building, housing Engine #103. To the right of this section, is the other half of this historical brick building, identical in design, housing Engine #102. A tribute to all firefighters, everywhere!
