Who doesn't love homemade ice cream on a hot, summer day? This old White Mountain ice cream freezer first belonged to my parents, and I can remember my father and brothers, and sometimes uncles and cousins, hovering around the freezer, taking turns cranking the wonderful goodness inside, anticipating the tasty rewards to come later in the day. And now my sons do the cranking on this family keepsake, teaching their children to take a break from the summertime games to slow down and anxiously await the sweet goodness of homemade ice cream, while also making lasting family memories.
