Description
This lovely rosewood Chickering piano was a wedding gift to Arnold and Phebe Denman Medbery of early Roscoe (Ohio) in 1836. It was shipped on the Erie Canal from New York to Cleveland, Ohio. The piano then came to Roscoe from Cleveland by way of the Ohio and Erie Canal. It is now in the visitor's center at historical Roscoe Village in Coshocton, Ohio.

A beautiful instrument with an interesting history. I have a rosewood clarinet, so can appreciate how the wood affects the tone.
