Artist's Description
A tiny little sweat bee is gathering pollen from a favorite purple flower. The beautiful metallic yellow and green coloring of the bee adds an additional splash of color and point of interest to this piece.
This original mixed media nature art features a Halictidae (one of the six bee families in the order Hymenoptera, also known as sweat bees), on a purple flower. Halictids are a very diverse group of metallic and non-metallic bees. Photographed in Franklin county, Ohio, USA.
