Artist's Description
Hosta plant flowering can be a very fancy affair. The plants flower in summer, offering spikes of blossoms that look like lilies, in shades of lavender or white. The bell-shaped blooms can be showy and exceptionally fragrant, attracting hummingbirds and bees.
I spotted these two beautiful Hosta blooms alongside a path at a local park. There was a large tree behind them, giving a lovely dark background to show off the two new blooms. I had to lay down on the path in order to position the buds just right to frame this image. While doing so, my husband was telling me that there were people approaching, and I should get up off the ground; one of the many hazards of being a photographer! I believe the people walking over me and the dog sniffing my face was worth it, to capture this image.
Digital editing with light and texture filter was used to achieve the final result. I hope you enjoy its natural beauty as much as I do!
