Description
A beautiful white morpho butterfly perched on a finger. An incredible beauty which stopped and posed for the pleasure of those standing nearby. I feel very fortunate to have captured this lovely creature in this image for others to enjoy! This photo was taken in the Franklin Park Conservatory, Columbus, Ohio.
Morpho polyphemus, the white morpho or Polyphemus white morpho, is a white butterfly of Mexico and Central America, ranging as far south as Costa Rica. As suggested by its name, this is one of the relatively few morphos that is white rather than blue.

Thank you Ruth! This was taken inside the Franklin Conservatory, when they had a butterfly event - releasing a variety of beauties every day for several days. They were fluttering around, and a few landed on fingers or hands of guests. I was lucky enough to get this shot at such a time!
