Luscious, delicious leeks! They’re on every fine chef’s menu somewhere. But they’re also in the finest of gardens, too. The leek is a vegetable, a cultivar of Allium ampeloprasum, the broadleaf wild leek. It is amazing how a leek can have such a beautiful bloom. And the fragrance is wonderful, attracting bees from miles away.
I love watching the bees work these beautiful blooms to gather pollen. This bumble bee is enjoying the feast, moving from one tiny flower to another. This image would make a great conversation starter, or a unique gift for the nature lover! The original image was captured in central Ohio, USA. I added color and texture filters to achieve the fine art finish.
